Artistic Mission Statement

Sol Theatre Project came into being in order to offer an opportunity to South Florida theatre artists to be a part of the development of a permanent Troupe of players. These players meet on a weekly basis to create unity of vision, shared technique, realized ensemble, and fearlessness of choice.  The preferred product is small and non-commercial; the professionalism is garnered through commitment and hard work.  There is no artistic governing standard outside of that imposed by the Troupe itself, and its ever-increasing knowledge of the Living Theatre legacy.

 

The Troupe will examine, through class and performance, whatever texts possible in the sweeping range of theatrical history - with its twenty-first century eyes.  This examination will seek to discover both for the Troupe and its audience the concepts of beauty, poignancy, passion, and truth by holding a candle to the human spirit.

 

The melting pot of South Florida’s cultural identity and the rays of the sub tropical sun provide us with our inspiration and energy.  Our Troupe makes us one.
